All requests for services (respite or other) must be forwarded to our psychosocial service. For all respite services, a file is opened by our Caregiver Support Counsellors with the caregiver and the person being cared for. Relationships are established between our respite coordinator and your pivot counsellor from the CIUSSS. This liaison is essential to ensure the quality and continuity of care and services. Care provided at Maison Gilles-Carle de Brome-Missisquoi follows Bill 90 under an agreement with the CIUSSS.
Effective November 1st, 2021, a cancellation fee will be applied to respite services (day and/or overnight) if the cancellation is made less than 48 business hours before the stay. The fees charged will reflect the reserved respite services.

"Maison Gilles-Carle Brome-Missisquoi is a home where the primary caregiver could get a break from the demands of looking after a loved one. It is a respite home where my mother is professionally supervised, for one day or a few nights. She is served nutritious homemade meals and snacks, including great activities such as singing and drawing and watching special tv shows and other relevant entertainment too. They go on supervised walks in the warmer months as well!
My mother loves it there, and so do I because it affords me the ability to get a break and just look after me. For me there is wonderful free counselling and support from the social worker, who helps me process the stress of constant primary caregiving.
The passion and compassion this home affords through its staff and programming is a blessing to all who utilize its kind and caring services."
