Brigitte Frégault possède une longue feuille de route comme intervenante, coordonnatrice et gestionnaire, tant dans le domaine communautaire que dans le monde des affaires.
Thérapeute en relation d’aide et détentrice d’une formation en éducation spécialisée et d’un certificat en gérontologie, Madame Frégault a toujours eu à coeur de parfaire ses connaissances tout au long de son parcours professionnel, notamment en coaching, en gestion du changement, en gestion de plaintes et de projets, en massothérapie et en relation d’aide.

Madame Frégault a possédé pendant quelques années sa propre auberge qui offrait du répit à une clientèle avec problèmes de santé mentale dans la région d’Orford. En plus d’y assurer la gestion générale, elle y agissait comme intervenante. Elle a également travaillé début des 2000 auprès des enfants avec des besoins particuliers en milieu autochtone à Kuujjuaq. De 2005 à 2013, elle fut directrice du service client et des soins au Spa Balnea. De 2013 à 2016, on la retrouve comme intervenante sociale et directrice générale de la Maison de la famille de Cowansville, puis en 2017-2018 comme directrice générale de la Résidence pour aînés Chartwell à Cowansville.

Depuis 2014, Brigitte Frégault investit son talent, ses compétences, son empathie et son enthousiasme au bénéfice du RSABM. Jusqu’à sa nomination comme directrice générale, elle était intervenante psychosociale et chef d’équipe. Elle fut tour à tour coordonnatrice du service de répit, responsable de l’équipe des bénévoles et intervenante psychosociale au gré des besoins et du financement de l’organisme.

La candidature de Madame Frégault s’est démarquée parmi toutes les candidatures reçues par ses compétences, son expertise et ses qualités personnelles, mais aussi par sa grande connaissance du RSABM, de son personnel, de sa clientèle et des enjeux auxquels l’organisme fait face. Tout en apportant à sa nouvelle fonction sa vision et son expérience propres, elle représente la continuité et la consolidation de l’organisme et saura certainement assurer avec brio la pérennité et le rayonnement du RSABM.

Le conseil d’administration souhaite à Madame Frégault bonne chance dans ses nouvelles fonctions et en profite pour remercier sincèrement Mme Christine Tougas de son engagement indéfectible envers le RSABM et lui souhaiter une retraite heureuse et sereine.

This decision comes in the wake of a non-compliance notice to the requirements of the Québec Construction Code issued by Cowansville’s Urban Planning and Environment Department. In addition, due to the type and use of the building and the particular nature of the BMCSG’s clientele, this notice of non-compliance was also forwarded to the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ).

Pending the RBQ’s requirements and recommendations, and in view of the risks this situation poses for respite care clients, particularly in the event of a fire, the Board of Directors has reached the conclusion that it is currently impossible to maintain all services offered in a safe manner, and has therefore decided, as a preventive measure, to temporarily suspend respite care.

Day respite services, as well as support services for caregivers, will be maintained in their entirety. However, the number of people who can be accommodated during the day will also be temporarily reduced to comply with the current requirements of the City and insurers.

The Board of Directors and Management have drawn up an action plan to minimize the impact and have already approached specialized firms to find appropriate solutions to the problem and make the necessary adjustments to the building. A mandate has been specifically awarded to the Engineering firm Technorm to carry out an assessment of the building.

“My colleagues on the Board of Directors and I are very aware of the inconvenience caused to families and participants by these measures, but we want to assure them that the safety of our customers and staff is at the very heart of our priorities and will continue to guide our decisions and actions. We sincerely hope that the situation will return to normal as soon as possible. I would also like to commend the hard work of our General Manager, Christine Tougas, and her team in managing this difficult situation.” said Johanne Houde, Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

Ms Charest toured the premises following the expansion, which was completed last June, and met the participants.

We received a $1,000 grant in recognition of the importance of our organisation and our contribution to the well-being of carers.

A total of $2,000 was raised, and Jean-Guy Hébert also personally donated $2,000. The grand total of $4,000 will support the BMCSG to pursue its mission of preventing and relieving caregiver fatigue and having a tangible impact on the daily lives of families in our region.

We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all the donors and the great team at the Rona for organising this event.

Jozée was a very appreciated counsellor by the caregivers and their loved ones at Maison Gilles-Carle in Brome-Missisquoi. She was always a good listener and knew how to support, guide and comfort. She will be greatly missed.

The BMCSG wishes to offer its sincere condolences to her family and friends.

The work took place during 2022 and was initiated in order to meet the growing demand for our respite, accommodation and psychosocial support services. The new layout of Maison Gilles-Carle de Brome-Missisquoi includes:

• The addition of two rooms and the expansion of the common areas for an increased capacity to accommodate and for an improved offering of activities. The organization can now welcome a total of 12 assisted persons per day, including six individuals for day respite and six for overnight respite. Prior to the expansion, the BMCSG was able to welcome 8 assisted persons per day;
• New office spaces
• The reorganization of a closed room for more privacy during meetings/discussions with caregivers;
• A new outdoor terrace at the back of the house.

“The BMCSG is very pleased with the results of the work. The renovations took a little longer than expected for various reasons such as the rising cost of materials, delivery delays and the scarcity of labour, but we did it! Our team is convinced that these changes will greatly contribute to the quality of the services offered by the Brome-Missisquoi Caregiver Support Group,” says Christine Tougas, Executive Director of the organization.
